The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency wrote on the X social network that the incident occurred 70 nautical miles away from the port of Djibouti but the vessel kept moving toward its destination.
The agency did not mention the ship, its starting point or destination but said the incident caused no damage to the ship and all its crew members were safe.
The report emerged after Yemeni forces, in a statement, announced they targeted an American oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden with missiles and fired drones at an American warship.
US Central Command, CENTCOM also confirmed the attack on the US-flagged vessel that followed new aerial strikes by American and British warplanes on several locations inside Yemen.
Yemenis say the US and the UK attacks are aimed at protecting the Zionist regime’s maritime interests in the Red Sea but they pledge to continue with anti-Israeli operation as long as the regime continues with genocide in Gaza.
